October 2022 Newsletter

Empire Point Neighbors:

There are so many great things happening in our neighborhood, and that is all thanks to you! A great way to stay informed is by checking out our website: Empirepoint.org and joining our private neighborhood Facebook page: Empire Point Neighbors to get important updates.

Neighborhood Fun: Mark your calendars
Monday, October 31- Halloween and Trick or Treating for the kids

If you would like to participate turn your porch light "ON". If you have other plans or want all the candy for yourself keep your porch light "OFF". 6-8pm for trick or treating. We will have a security officer at the front entrance.

Getting the kids all dressed up is a busy and exciting time. To make your lives a bit easier, stop by 4847 Empire Avenue (The Lawrences) to feed the kids before you head out trick or treating. We will have hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and old fashioned lemonade available. Feel free to bring a dish to share, but not necessary!! 5-6pm; its very casual- and all are welcome.

Save the Date: The annual Christmas Party is planned for Sunday. Dec. 11 from 3-5pm. Watch for updates on Christmas Caroling and a Chili Cook-off coming your way!!

Dues update:
As of October 2022 we have had 87% of our homes pay their dues for this year. That's 130 households out of 149. Way to go and thank you for supporting all we do in Empire Point.

What is the money used for you ask?
This year we've updated our security cameras, the work is about 90% completed. The upgrades include much better resolution and longer Cloud storage. If you need access to the video, reach out to either David Morris or Ashley Insetta; you can also email epccjax@gmail.com

We continue to fund landscaping of common areas, boat ramp maintenance, and social events. Please continue to pay dues each winter, we could not do these kinds of projects without you.
Thank you!!

Still want to pay for 2022? You can.... let's still try for 100% participation!! To make your payment even easier you can now pay through Paypal using these easy steps-

Looking ahead to 2023:
Want to be more involved in this awesome neighborhood? Have ideas for fun get togethers? We are looking for new board members to join in the fun. Don't worry, the former ones will still be around to work, guide and assist, as we love our cheese and crackers at the meetings, but the more the merrier. Let me know if you are interested and I will add your name to email list of meetings (There are about 6-8 per year). We are always up for fresh ideas and fresh faces.

Dues for 2023: The board met this past week and we voted to increase dues to $175 for the coming year. This is our first increase in about 10 years. We hated to do it, but are requesting the additional funds to continue to make small improvements in the neighborhhod! We appreciate your continued support of Empire Point. (We will begin collecting for 2023 at the annual Christmas party on December 11).

Please reach out if you have any questions and we look forward to seeing you out and about soon.
